Laurence J Betts Ltd is committed to its responsibilities of maintaining our environment.
Policies are implemented throughout the business ranging from the sowing of wild flower meadows, soil compaction testing, through to waste recycling. All of these systems are helping to sustain our environment.
Through programs such as ELS, FWAG, LEAF and surveys conducted by the RSPB, there have been some fantastic results seen around our farms.
2007 saw two species of rare flower growing at Church Farm: the Bee Orchid and the Grass Vetching; this is a direct result of our annual plan to plant new trees and sow new wild grasslands.
It has been encouraging to see skylarks nesting here for a number of years now and an ever increasing number of birds of prey, as well as kestrels and sparrow hawks, owls have also been seen.
We are most grateful to The Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group, FWAG, who recently completed an in depth "Whole Farm Environmental Plan" and also to the RSPB who conducted a Farm Bird Survey.
